Training and Experience

I am a licensed clinical social worker with offices in the Maryland and Virginia areas. I have nearly a decade of experience in working with preschoolers, children, adolescents, and adults with a wide variety of diagnoses. I specialize in using creative methods to help children and adolescents who are struggling to use words to understand, process, and express their emotions, in addition to using cognitive-behavioral therapy and mindfulness techniques.

I have worked in a variety of settings, including short term and long term psychotherapy as well as a successful evidence-based after school program for children with serious emotional and behavioral disturbances and Children’s National Medical Center’s weight management program. This has provided me with the experience and flexibility to help adults, families, and children identify and tailor length and type of treatment to match their personal needs and goals.

I received my Master’s degree in Social Work in 2005 from Simmons School of Social Work, and a post-graduate certificate in Expressive Therapies from Lesley College. I am committed to staying engaged in ongoing learning with the wider mental health community so as to provide the most thoughtful possible psychotherapy.
